Where does CareerDataLab get its salary data?
Salary and employment data come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) and Employment Projections programs. We update when new BLS releases are available.
How do I compare majors or careers?
Use the Tools page to compare up to four majors or careers side by side. You can see median salaries, growth rates, and related paths.
What does "annual openings" mean on a career page?
Annual openings are the average number of job openings per year (from BLS Employment Projections) over the projection period. They include new jobs and replacements.
Can I see salaries by state?
Yes. On each career detail page we show a "Salary by State" table with median wages by state where data is available.
