Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Fellowship Program.
A fellowship training program that prepares physicians to treat decompression illness and diving accident cases; to use hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment for conditions such as carbon monoxide poisoning, gas gangrene, non-healing wounds, tissue damage from radiation and burns, and bone infections; to serve as consultant in all aspects of hyperbaric chamber operations; and to assess risks and apply appropriate standards to prevent disease and disability in divers and other persons working in altered atmospheric conditions. Requires prior completion of a residency program in emergency medicine or preventive medicine. This CIP code is not valid for IPEDS reporting.
