Emergency Medicine Residency Program.

A residency training program that prepares physicians in the methods, procedures, and techniques of providing and managing immediate health care services. Includes instruction in the initial recognition, stabilization, evaluation and care of the acutely ill or injured patient; patient follow-up and referral; management of prehospital care; training and supervision of emergency medical personnel; emergency department management; medicolegal and ethical issues; and disaster planning.
